This recipe makes a delicious, chewy pizza crust. If you like it on the harder, crunchier side, roll it very thin. If you want a thick, soft crust keep it on the thicker side.
- 4 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tsp white sugar
- 2 cups warm water
- 5-6 cups bread flour
- 4 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp dried parsley
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let stand until nice and creamy, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in flour, salt, garlic powder, parmesan cheese, parsley and oil. Beat with spoon until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead just a few times. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes or so.
- Split dough in half. Roll out or press out with your hands into the shape and size you like.
- Throw on your desired toppings and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
